Joe Diffie
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino -111 3rd St. – May 19th, 2017- 8:00pmWith the release of Jason Aldean’s hit “1994” earlier this year that name-checked many of Joe Diffie’s twelve Number One hits, the legendary singer found himself squarely back in the hearts and minds of country fans. The multi-platinum-selling artist who dominated the charts during a hot streak in the ‘90’s may have been absent from the radio charts for the past few years, but Joe-Joe-Joe Diffie has never slowed down – writing, touring and recording a myriad of projects including his critically acclaimed 2010 bluegrass album “Homecoming,” and his recent “Roots And Boots” acoustic tour and collaborative CD “All In The Same Boat,” with fellow hitmakers Sammy Kershaw and Aaron Tippin. And now he’s back at it again, riding shotgun with hick-hop sensations the Jawga Boyz on a brand new single, “Girl Ridin’ Shotgun,” which was recently released to country radio.

DAD vs. DEVOUR ONCE DEAD- Battle of the Bands Championship
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino -111 3rd St. – May 13th, 2017DEVOUR ONCE DEADFormed in 2009, we are a band that gives no f*&ks. Our live shows are aggressive and visually horrifying. We play heavy and original metal. We do not copy or mimic any certain style of heavy music, but are influenced by all of it. We do what we do and make no apologies, and our fans love us for it. Loud, nasty, dirty, horror metal!

DAD

DAD (Dope A** Dudes) are a hip hop duo from Sioux City. With rhymes that cover the subject of being a Dad and all of the craziness and change that comes with the responsibility, they have dug out a niche that a ton of people can relate to. Even if you’re not a parent you can understand where they are coming from. The group consists of three Dads. Protige (Vocals): A Sioux City Hip Hop favorite, Protige (Mark Koenigs) has been tearing apart stages since the late 90’s. With his solo release “The Inevitable”, Protige has shown his versiatility and ability to keep up with current rhyme styles and concepts. Eboli (Vocals): A Sioux City Hip Hop veteran, Eboli (Jason Reinert) has been in plenty of groups spanning his time as a rapper, Aflikshen, Flux Ambassador and Lazer Rocket Arm, to name a few. Eboli has remained relevant and stays on top of the newest rhyme styles. Also a producer and DJ, Eboli is a force to be reckoned with. The Sound Insurgent (DJ): The Sound Insurgent (Huey Sullivan) is one of the midwest’s premier DJs with a resume to match. The Sound Insurgent has performed on the biggest stages in the area and he always pleases the crowd. A resident DJ at The 21st Amendment, a regular feature in the Sioux Falls hip hop scene and an all-around well-groomed DJ, TSI will make any party come alive.
The artwork will be on display:
Friday, May 5th from 5 to 8 pm
Saturday, May 6th from 10 am to 7 pm
Sunday, May 7th from 12 to 4 pm

{be} Studio, now a Registered Yoga School, excitedly announces their next 200 hour teacher training program – this time in as a 4 week intensive!

Intelligently and uniquely designed; this program will enhance any student’s desire to learn the practice of yoga as a deeper lifestyle and prepare you to teach and guide others in the practice.

One of Jackie’s greatest passions is teaching the yoga student who wishes to interweave the practice deeper into their hearts and lives. This program will be an intimate and one of a kind experience. Individualized in that it will be limited to 10 participants only in order to cultivate a deep space of learning and connection. Having a spark for the diverse channels of the practice, we will study various styles of yoga including vinyasa but also Hatha, Tantra and Bhakti Traditions. Teachers and experts from surrounding communities will be brought in for other areas of study such as anatomy and physiology, pre/post natal and other specialty aspects of the practice.

Jackie has a deep passion for remaining a student and so the wisdom that she offers is fresh and relevant; yet deeply rooted in the ancient practices of yoga. It is authentic to the practice and she holds a deep respect for all of the gurus in her life, in particular Carole Westerman and so many more.

Students can expect a wide range of wisdom that will leave them feeling confident to move deeper into an independent practice as well as guide others along in theirs. Not only will you learn on an intellectual level, but a deeper transformation wil occur on a physical and psychospiritual plane. Be prepared for deep shifts and great expansion.

Be surrounded by a group of teachers who are here to support and uplift you, a space ready to receive you and a program that is unlike any other. All skill levels welcome!

More details will be announced in the next month. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jackie at 712-490-7705. Again space is limited, so if you are feeling the pull, it may be time to listen.

be rooted- Planting the Seed of Intention
Be Yoga Studio -1101 4th St. – Saturday, March 18th, 2017- 1:00pm

Be moved, be loved, be kind, be active, be wise…
We all crave to be more than we are. It’s our human condition- we strive, we see goals, we fail, we achieve.
But when we set goals, we attach ourselves to arriving at the outcome rather than the journey there. We focus on how our life could look rather than how it feel. This workshop is designed to let you dig deep, listen, hear the heart, plant the seeds of intention, and let them flourish and grow in the process.**Included, and not limited to: planting flowers, tea, vision boards, sunshine, meditation, exploration, heart opening, nidra, and creative expression.

Saturday, March 18, 1:00 – 4:00.
