Downtown Partners welcomes you to kick off the holiday season with an evening full of activities for the entire family! Downtown for the Holidays is scheduled for Monday, November 25th in downtown Sioux City.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 231 is proud to once again present the Holiday Lighted Parade for 2019. This will mark the eighth year that IBEW has sponsored Sioux City’s only nighttime parade. It begins at 6:15 p.m. on 4th and Iowa Streets and jingles its way down 4th Street. Businesses, organizations and service groups in the Siouxland community are encouraged to participate in the parade. There is no cost to enter and your float may win a cash prize for the best in its class. Registrations are due by November 19. There will be cash prizes awarded in each category for commercial and non-commercial; 1st – $150.00, 2nd – $100.00 and 3rd – $50.00.
In the past, this night has kicked off the season in downtown with events at The LaunchPAD Children’s Museum (623 Pearl Street) Evolve Yoga & Wellness Center (411 Pearl Street), the Sioux City Public Museum (607 4th Street) and opened the doors to Santa’s House (409 Nebraska Street) and the Festival of Trees. If there are any other events planned in downtown that evening, please let us know by October 11th so that we can add it to the list of events.
A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 231 for helping make the parade possible and to Thompson Electric, Target and the Sioux City Public Museum for their involvement with the holiday decorations.
