Awakening Ease: A Journey from Restorative to Somatic Yoga Embodiment

Join us for a transformative four-part workshop series, Awakening Ease, where we journey from deep rest into embodied movement. This series blends Restorative Yoga, Somatic Movement, and Breath Awareness, offering a progressive exploration into the body’s innate wisdom. Each session builds upon the last, transitioning from stillness into gentle somatic awakening, and ultimately into fluid, deeply engaged yet slow and gentle movement practices.

Who is this for?
~Anyone seeking deep relaxation, nervous system reset, and gentle movement.
~Yoga practitioners and movement enthusiasts looking to refine body awareness.
~Those recovering from injury, managing stress, or wanting to move with more ease.

We begin each session with breath awareness, guiding you into a state of presence and creating a foundation for deeper nervous system regulation. Through Restorative Yoga postures, we provide the body with a sense of safety, essential for unwinding trauma patterns and habitual tension. We then progress into somatic movement explorations, allowing participants to reconnect with their bodies in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. Each session concludes with a guided Yoga Nidra, supporting integration and nervous system recalibration.

In each session we meet you where you are, as you are —whether you join all four sessions or attend individually, each experience offers a stand-alone opportunity for self-exploration and healing. However, for a deeper journey, sessions build upon each other, progressively moving from stillness into engaged movement, supporting the body’s ability to process, release, and re-pattern towards full embodiment.

Session One:

The Power of Stillness – Restorative Yoga & Nervous System Reset
Experience the profound healing power of stillness in this deeply restful session. Using breath awareness and fully-supported Restorative Yoga postures, we will gently guide the nervous system into relaxation, creating a foundation for easeful movement. This class is designed for deep rest and nervous system regulation, setting the stage for the journey ahead.

What you can expect:
+Guided breath awareness to activate the parasympathetic
nervous system.
+Fully supported Restorative Yoga postures to release tension.
+Discussion on the importance of stillness in healing and
movement practices.
+Gentle body scan meditation for deep integration.

Session 2: Reawakening the Body – Gentle Somatic

Movement & Breath Awareness
After deep rest, we gently awaken the body through breath-guided somatic movement. This session focuses on micro-movements to enhance body awareness, release stored tension, and encourage new patterns of ease. You will learn simple yet powerful techniques to restore balance and mobility through small, intentional movements.

What you can expect:
+Breath-focused somatic movements for interoception and
awareness.
+Pelvic rocks, shoulder releases, and spinal waves to unwind
tension.
+Introduction to pandiculation (contract & release method) to
retrain movement.
+Restorative Savasana with a guided body scan.
Session 3: Fluidity & Expansion – Dynamic Somatic Flow & Breathwork

Moving beyond the subtle, we begin to integrate fluid, breath-led movement into our practice. This session introduces somatic flow sequences, helping you to experience strength and freedom within your movement. You will learn how to use breath and undulating motion to bring ease and balance into your yoga and daily life.

expansion.
+Introduction to dynamic spinal waves and undulating transitions.
+Exploring how habitual movement patterns influence tension.
+Guided breath exploration techniques to support ease in motion.

Session 4: Empowered Embodiment – Advanced Somatic Integration in Yoga Practice

Bringing it all together, this final session integrates somatic awareness into a more engaged yoga practice. Experience how deepened breath, body intelligence, and mindful transitions can bring a new level of ease, strength, and self-awareness to your movement practice. You will leave feeling empowered in your body’s ability to move with grace and ease.

+Closing reflection and guided restorative meditation.
