11AM – 3 new barrel-aged stouts released:
Darklands. 13.7% ABV. This time of year there is more night than day. Kind of depressing but also a good time to enjoy a barrel-aged stout. This triple-mash, first runnings, overnight boil stout had an astounding starting gravity of 39°P. After fermentation it rested in Wild Turkey bourbon barrels for 30 months, creating waves of chocolate and oak induced vanilla notes. Nothing added to this one, just black as night.
Ember. 13.7% ABV. Nothing like a good fire on a dark night. The embers can be mesmerizing to watch. With the same base as Darlklands, we decided to toss in some peanuts and marshmallows for a peanut butter fluff inspired treat. The chocolate and barrel notes combined with peanut and marshmallow will set your taste buds on fire.
Core Principles. 13.2% ABV. An apple stout a day keeps the boredom away. We took a stout aged for a crazy 32 months in an apple brandy barrel and loaded it with a bowl full of adjuncts: apples, caramel, granola, vanilla and cinnamon. Grab a spoon and some vanilla ice cream, this stout drinks like an apple crisp dessert but with a chocolate stout to go along with it!
11AM – 1PM Barrel aged stout Cellar Sale. We have a few bottles left from over 10 past barrel aged beer releases. Limited quantities available, first come first served, no limits.
2:30PM – 5:30PM Live music from Joe Donnelly. Come see this talented musician play solo and you swear you’ll be hearing a whole band at times! One of our favorite artists we’ve had here at Marto, Joe played one of our Martoberfest events a few years ago and killed it. His career has grown since then and we’re lucky that he just started a solo tour and could fit us into his schedule. Come check it out! No cover charge! 6:30PM – Watch Iowa and Nebraska fight it out on the football field for border state bragging rights! We’ll have the action on all of our TVs with the TV sound of the action playing throughout the taproom.
