This series of interactive workshops provides an opportunity for all community members to join in and engage in meaningful conversation centered around our environment. Local artists will help lead a creative twist by turning these conversations into artwork around Sioux City, Iowa with collaboration from community members.
Our second week will be focusing on local environmental issues regarding air, water, and soil quality in the Siouxland area while highlighting different initiatives that are taking place to address those issues. We will also talk about some of the common environmental myths that you may see or hear about.
The goals of this series is to “plant the seed” (pun intended) about how we interact with our environment through community-based art while inspiring thought-provoking ideas and approaches to preserve the world around us. What we do here in the Siouxland impacts many communities downstream.
