Gallery 103 is delighted to announce the opening of “Youthful Visions,” a captivating solo exhibition featuring the works of the up-and-coming youth artist, Kylie W. Thunderhawk.
The exhibition will run throughout the month of February, from February 2nd to February 29th, with the closing event scheduled for 6:00 PM.

 

About Kylie W. Thunderhawk:
Kylie W. Thunderhawk, a self-taught artist and member of the Sičangu and Oglala Lakota from the Titowan band of the Oceti Sakowin, brings her unique perspective to the forefront in “Indigenous Visions.” Residing in Sioux City, IA, Kylie works with a variety of mediums, including Gouache, Oil Paints, Acrylic, Charcoal & Graphite, and Ink. She is also working towards attaining her Tattoo Apprenticeship.

Kylie’s artistic journey has been shaped by her participation in the Oscar Howe Summer Art Institute, where she studied under renowned artists such as Malanie Yazzie, Henry Payer, Keith BraveHeart, and Joe Williams. A two-time Lakota Nation Invitational (LNI) art contest winner for consecutive years in South Dakota, Kylie’s deep connection to her people and culture is evident in her choice of subjects and themes.

– Explore Kylie’s mastery in various artistic mediums, reflecting her diverse creative talents.

– Witness the intricate details and profound storytelling within each piece, showcasing her dedication to Gouache, Oil Paints, Acrylic, Charcoal & Graphite, and Ink.

Closing Reception:
The closing event scheduled for February 29th at 6PM, promises to be a memorable evening, providing attendees with the opportunity to meet the artist, engage in discussions about her inspirations, and appreciate the cultural significance embedded in her artwork. Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be served, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all to enjoy.

About Gallery 103:
Gallery 103 is an artists collective and a dynamic space dedicated to showcasing emerging talents and fostering a diverse artistic community. Located on the ground level of the Ho Chunk Building, it serves as a hub for creativity, providing a platform for artists like Kylie W. Thunderhawk to share their visions with the world.

Gallery 103 is open on Saturdays from 10AM- 1PM and by appointment.
