Downtown Partners is seeking a highly organized and creative individual to join our team as an Event Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing a variety of events that will enhance the vibrancy of our downtown area. This role requires a dynamic and detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and time management skills. This is a 20 hour per week position starting at $24.00 per hour. Hours relative to event needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution:
- Develop, plan, and execute a diverse range of downtown events and activities alongside downtown businesses, including but not limited to festivals, markets, cultural events, and community gatherings.
- Ensure events align with the overall goals of promoting downtown development and enhancing the downtown experience.
- Community Engagement:
- Work closely with local businesses, community organizations, and government entities to foster partnerships and support for downtown events.
- Engage with the community to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure events meet the needs of residents and visitors.
- Promotion and Marketing:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote downtown events through various channels, including social media, traditional media, and community outreach.
- Collaborate with local media for event coverage.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets for each event, ensuring cost-effective planning and adherence to financial constraints.
- Evaluation and Reporting:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and gather insights for improvement.
- Prepare reports detailing event outcomes, attendance figures, and financial summaries for stakeholders and future planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
