Downtown Event Coordinator (part-time) – Apply by Monday, May 5, 2025
Downtown Partners is seeking a highly organized and creative individual to support and execute downtown events over a 15-week period starting on May 15, 2025. This temporary role is perfect for a creative and detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about community-building. You’ll work collaboratively with our team and community stakeholders to plan and carry out engaging downtown events that boost vibrancy and participation in the area. This is a 25 hour per week, seasonal position starting at $24.00 per hour. No benefits are available for this position. Hours are flexible relative to event needs. This seasonal position may offer the opportunity for a permanent role with the organization.
Downtown Partners Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and delivery of festivals, markets, cultural programs, and pop-up events.
- Oversee on-site event logistics, vendor communication, and day-of coordination.
- Ensure each event aligns with Downtown Partners’ mission to enhance downtown vitality.
- Partner with local businesses, nonprofits, and city agencies to co-create event experiences.
- Act as a liaison between Downtown Partners and the community to gather feedback and ensure inclusivity.
- Create and execute promotional plans for the event organizers (i.e. social media, press releases, and local partnerships).
- Coordinate social media needs with the Downtown Partners Business Development Coordinator.
- Work with media outlets for pre-event publicity and post-event coverage.
- Track and manage event budgets efficiently, providing timely updates to Downtown Partners.
- Ensure all event-related spending remains within contract scope and pre-approved limits.
- Collect data and feedback from each event.
- Deliver a final contract summary report highlighting outcomes, attendance, expenses, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Experience planning and executing public events is preferred.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work independently as a contractor and provide your own tools/technology as
needed.
