Downtown Partners in Sioux City, Iowa is proud to welcome Elizabeth Stewart as the new Event Coordinator. Outdoor programming is essential to creating a vibrant downtown and activity in Sioux City continues to increase. This position was created to help assist organizations and businesses looking to host events on the streets of downtown.
After moving to Downtown Sioux City in 2023, Stewart joined the artists collective at Gallery 103 where she founded the Artists in Recovery initiative. She has helped to host several local events as a volunteer. In her new role, she will be responsible for all duties relating to the development and execution of events supported by Downtown Partners. With 12 years of event planning experience, ranging from intimate gatherings to large scale festivals, she will be helping to create new events with local businesses. Stewart is passionate about creating memorable experiences.
As a student at Peru State College, Stewart studies Organizational Leadership and Management along with Psychology. She is a member of Sioux City’s League of Women Voters and serves on the committees for Alley Art Festival and the Gallery In The Sky. She has also served on the organizing committee for the National Women’s March in 2018. Her work has been featured on NowThis Her and The Tonight Show.
After becoming her building’s resident representative for Downtown Partners, she found a passion for the city and she stepped into this role. Stewart states, “I am so grateful for Sioux City and the people here. It’s an honor to be part of such a great community. Taking on this new opportunity allows me to continue creating engaging and memorable experiences that bring people together. I am excited about leveraging my skills to contribute to the continued success of downtown events and further enhance the community’s vibrancy.”
