Organized by local artists Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, Brutal Doodles, Sweettttart, SUX ART HUB and Vangarde Arts, the Gallery in the Skywalk Art Festival was created in 2022 to beautify the city’s indoor “streets” with public artwork and is part of an ongoing effort to enhance walkability between downtown businesses.
This year, we are re-imagining the Gallery in the Skywalk as a community built event, and celebrating Siouxland’s connection with the Community Built Association! CBA is a nationwide organization that empowers people to create positive, sustainable change in their communities through the community built process. This process of creating public artwork, events, and infrastructure is focused on community engagement and participation. With support from the CBA, we are excited to continue planning Siouxland’s next community built art festival, the 2024 Gallery in the Skywalk!
